Equipment

  • 1 Large Pot/Pan
  • 1 9 x 9" square baking pan
  • 1 Spatula

Ingredients

  • ¼ Cup Butter (I used salted, but unsalted is fine too)
  • 10-ounce 1 bag of Marshmallows (mini size or regular)
  • 6 Cups Froot Loops Cereal

Instructions

  • Line a 9 x9 inch square pan with parchment paper, leaving enough parchment overhang to lift the bars out of the pan once done. Set it aside.
  • Melt butter over medium heat in a very large pot or pan. Once the butter melts, turn the heat to low and add the marshmallows. Continuously stir the mixture until marshmallows are completely melted.
Remember not to melt marshmallows on high heat as it can make the bars dry and hard.
¼ Cup Butter, 10-ounce 1 bag of Marshmallows
  • Remove marshmallows from heat and then fold in the cereal. Make sure each all the froot loops are coated with the marshmallow mix.
    6 Cups Froot Loops Cereal
  • Transfer mixture to the pre-lined pan. Lightly grease the back of your spatula either with butter or cooking spray. Now gently press the mixture down into the pan. Do not apply too much pressure while pressing this mix. Just lightly press it down.
  • Allow treats to set for at least 2 hours at room temperature. You can leave them as is covered, up to 1 day. When ready to cut, lift the cereal block out of the pan using the overhangs of parchment paper. Cut into squares using a sharp knife. Clean between each cut for crisp and clean edges.

Notes

Storing Information:
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days covered at all times. Use wax paper or parchment paper between each square so that the bars don't stick to each other.
When to cut Bars: Don't cut in to squares until the bars block is completely set. If you are in a hurry, you can also refrigerate the bars for about an hour or till they are very firm to touch. Cut them then. Allow the bars to come to room temperature before serving.
To amp up the flavor: You can also add half a teaspoon of vanilla in this mix. Add a pinch of salt if using unsalted butter.
